Community Energy is proud to offer all PSEG Long Island electric customers the option to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) through the Green Choice program. This REC-only product represents the environmental attributes of renewable energy generation sources and helps sustain and reinvest in the development of new renewable energy projects.

For a typical New York State home that uses 600 kilowatt-hours per month, participating in the PSEG Long Island Green Choice Program with Community Energy will add $7 to $15 per month to your electric bill, depending on which option you choose.

100% Wind
($15/month on average)*
Adds 2.5 cents per kWh on all usage

60% Wind /40% Hydro
($7.80/month on average) 
Adds 1.3 cents per kWh on all usage

Your renewable energy service charge will appear right on your monthly PSEG Long Island electricity bill and is in addition to your standard electric bill charges. Your participation delivers valuable environmental and economic benefits. Participation in the program can be cancelled at any time with no cancellation fee.
