Land & Community Representative (Utility Scale Solar – Southeast US)

Position Description

Community Energy is seeking to add a member to our team in a dynamic role.  You will be leading our efforts in select markets around the U.S. (primarily Southeast U.S.) to acquire land rights (long term leases or purchase options) to support development of utility scale solar (and solar + storage) projects.  You will lead our efforts to establish local relationships with the many stakeholders of each project (e.g. neighbors, community members, county leaders/staff, utility staff, politicians, local consultants, etc.

This role is very dependent on good relationship and trust building, negotiation skills, and collaborative/creative problem solving.

There is significant room for growth in the expanding field of clean energy.
 
Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience with land acquisition for development projects (ideally energy related and some solar)
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • An appreciation and joy for dealing with landowners, and all people
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Negotiation Experience
  • Experience with project development, including zoning/permitting (a plus, not required)
  • Experience with electrical utilities (a plus, not required)
  • Team player with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment

Clean Energy Analyst — Radnor, PA

Position Description

Community Energy is seeking to add a member to our team in a dynamic role that is both deeply analytical and will engage in real-world project development of utility scale solar and storage projects, as well as cutting-edge demonstration projects that can advance our industry. 

In this role you will support and lead analysis of market and project opportunities/strategies throughout the Eastern U.S.

In this role you will support the development of some of the largest utility scale solar (and solar + storage) projects in the eastern U.S., supporting all aspects of development including but not limited to: site identification and suitability analysis, land acquisition and negotiation, site optimization and design support, grid interconnection, permitting, sale of electricity, and all aspects of making a project successful. 

There is significant room for growth in the expanding field of clean energy.

The position is based in Community Energy’s headquarters near Philadelphia, PA. 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Two+ years of experience with solar energy (most is great)
  • Superior research, analytical and quantitative abilities
  • Strategic and puzzle solving mindset
  • Ability to see the big picture
  • Demonstrated interest in and experience with energy and innovation
  • Self-directed with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • GIS experience – e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth (Important)
  • MS Excel (experience with macros a plus, not required)
  • Electrical Engineering and/or Interconnection Experience (a plus, not required)
  • Experience with electric utilities and/or markets (a plus, not required)
  • Hunger and excitement to dig in, problem solve, and deliver results

Solar Energy Developer (Utility Scale Solar + Storage)

Community Energy is seeking to add a member to our team in a dynamic role, to help us lead the development of utility scale solar and solar+storage projects. 

You will both support and lead the development of some of the largest utility scale solar (and solar + storage) projects in the eastern U.S., coordinating all aspects of development including but not limited to: site identification and suitability analysis, land acquisition and negotiation, site optimization and design, grid interconnection, permitting, community engagement, sale of electricity, and all aspects of making a project successful. 

You will have a significant amount of responsibility in this role and will also have significant room for growth in the expanding field of clean energy.  You will have the support and direction of a highly sophisticated and dedicated team.

The position is based in Community Energy’s headquarters near Philadelphia, PA.  A remote working arrangement may be possible.  Some portion of the initial focus may be in Virginia.

  • Three to Six (or more) years of experience developing solar energy facilities
