Community Energy, Inc. — Internship

Community Energy, Inc. is looking for interns to join its fun, professional and dynamic team! This is a paid internship and great opportunity for a college student or recent graduate to gain real-life experience with an entrepreneurial leader in clean energy technologies, policy and green marketing while being exposed to a wide variety of job roles. The ideal candidate would be available for a minimum of 30 hours per week (summer), must be flexible, professional and able to manage multiple tasks. Responsibilities may include market research, data analytics, customer and administrative assistance, and heading up special projects.

Qualifications:

Position Description:
Community Energy is currently seeking a new team member to support the Marketing and Sales division on its retail programs and operating projects portfolio.  This position will be responsible for customer management and marketing operations on energy retail programs, including but not limited to executing and evaluating approved program marketing plans, responding to customer inquiries, processing customer enrollments and cancellations, and producing reporting for internal management and utility partners.  This position will work closely with the Accounting, Marketing + Sales, and Customer Service teams. Further, this position holds room for growth in the exciting and expanding field of renewable energy development. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent professional experience, with customer service experience
  • Understanding of basic Accounting concepts
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
  • Professional presence and strong communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet assigned deadlines
  • Ability to think creatively, respond to challenges and improve existing processes
  • Ability to perform at a high level with significant autonomy

Community Energy, Inc. — Project Finance Associate – Boulder, CO

Position Description:
The Project Finance Associate will be in charge of financial analysis and economic valuation for Community Energy’s solar and storage development projects across the US. This position will support several project finance and M&A transactions each year with the goal of developing into a deal lead role on such transactions. The Project Finance Associate will have high management visibility and report directly to the Regional Development Director in the Boulder, CO office.

Duties and responsibilities:
• 50% – Lead financial modeling of solar and energy storage development opportunities
• 35% – Support project financing and M&A transactions with 3rd party investors, lenders and/or tax equity providers
• 15%- Provide strategic financial and renewable energy market analysis as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and MBA or other similar graduate degree with a focus on finance
• At least two years of work experience supporting the renewable energy industry in a financial modeling and transactional role. Previous experience working for a project developer, independent power producer, utility or investment bank a plus.  
• Professional presence and strong communication skills
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial office environment
