In October of 2012, Community Energy celebrated the completion of the largest solar project in Pennsylvania, the 5 MW (ac) Keystone Solar Project in Lancaster County, PA.
SCA Solidifies Commitment to Keystone Solar with Four-Year Purchase
SCA , which has been a renewable energy customer of Community Energy since 2006, purchased the equivalent of 100% of the electricity used at its Philadelphia headquarters, in the certified LEED CI Gold Cira Centre, through renewable energy.
Children swarmed the Community Energy tent at EarthFest 2013, an all-day “Celebration for the Earth” welcoming 1,500 visitors to Temple University’s Ambler campus this April. Wide-eyed and full of questions, elementary school students from all over the greater Philadelphia area stood and watched in awe as Community Energy’s Joel Thomas demonstrated the power of the sun with an interactive solar-powered wind turbine model.
On July 20th many customers, partners and friends joined us for a tour of the Keystone Solar Farm in Lancaster County, PA. The day of sun & fun included an interactive tour, catered lunch, and informational & discussion-based presentations. We look forward to hosting more of these solar tours soon.
