Community Energy has been proud to call EarthColor a customer since 2007.  By purchasing over 25,000 megawatt-hours (MWhs) of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) each year, this New Jersey-based printing company offsets 100% of their facility’s electricity usage.   This purchase prevents the release of 30,000 tons of carbon dioxide and accomplishes the environmental equivalent of planting 26,000 acres of trees or not driving over 68 million miles.

EarthColor has established itself as an environmental leader within the printing industry.  They are members of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Leaders Program and are ranked atop the Green Power Partnership list in the printer category as well as being an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified business.  In addition, EarthColor has taken active measures to reduce their waste through the use of responsible techniques and technologies such as a state-of-the-art printing press that reduces energy and chemical consumption on all print jobs. 

These efforts have led to much deserved attention and recognition for EarthColor including their selection as the winner of the 2008 State of New Jersey Green Power Purchaser of the Year award as well as the American Printer Environmental Excellence Award.  EarthColor is committed to environmental excellence and has taken measures to communicate and educate their employees and customers on these values in the hope that others will join them in their efforts to preserve our planet.
