Computers Donated to Locust Ridge Community

The Locust Ridge I and II projects had already given wind developer Joe Green the opportunity to help develop two wind farms less than 10 minutes from his boyhood home in Pennsylvania.  He recently had the opportunity to give back.

When Community Energy upgraded our computer systems we were able to donate 13 computers to the Shenandoah Valley High School, Joe’s alma mater, located near our parent company’s Locust Ridge wind farms.  The computers were refurbished and cleaned to ensure they would be in top working condition for the students.

Many hands went into making this donation possible.  Jill Stoneberg from the Community Energy marketing team was put in charge of finding a home for the computers.  Jill worked with Joe, and information technology specialist Ben Terry.  Ben repaired and refurbished the computers before distributing them to the Shenandoah Valley High School.

If you have other ideas for how to positively affect Iberdrola Renewables' wind farm communities, or to increase corporate social responsibility / environmental responsibility within the company, or for more information, send Jill an e-mail (jill.stoneberg@newwindenergy.com).
