If your goal is to address your indirect emissions from grid-connected electricity use, RECs are the way to go.  RECs are the currency for tracking and trading renewable energy and they help build the demand for new renewable energy project development.

When making a REC purchase look for a Green-e® Energy certified renewable energy marketer – such as Community Energy. Because RECs are intangible products, Green-e® Energy requires its certified marketers are independently audited each year to protect consumers.

Certified Carbon Offsets

If your goal is to offset the “direct emissions” from company-owned equipment, such as vehicles, boilers, furnaces, etc., or “indirect emissions” like business travel on commercial airlines or rental cars, certified Carbon Offsets are the right choice.

We source our Certified Carbon Offsets from renewable energy projects in the USA. Our offsets are independently certified under the Green-e® Climate program, which is administered by the nonprofit, Center for Resource Solutions. As part of this certification, our Carbon Offsets meet stringent additionality criteria to verify that these projects result in real, permanent, verifiable carbon reductions and are not “business as usual.”
