Where Has Customer Service Gone?



A recent unexpected cancellation of a flight to depart Chicago’s O’Hare airport left me sitting in the airport for 12 hours, without any particular effort to assist me or a single apology from anyone on the airline’s staff.  At this morning’s doctor’s appointment, the receptionist spoke shortly and gruffly when I checked in.

They Grind Your Bones to Make Their Bread



My high school’s Green Campus Initiative recently added an impressive piece of hardware. The Lawrenceville School’s sustainability program includes a LEED certified building, biodiesel production facilities and vehicles, and an organic vegetable garden that helps to feed the campus. Google Employment Policies Relaxed to Accommodate Weed Enthusiasts



Earlier this month, Google announced that they would no longer be mowing the grass/brush on sections of their Mountain View, California campus by conventional methods.  Instead, they will be opting for something(s) that have seen very little face time on the California Tech Circuit up to this point…goats.

Energia Ecologica Para Todos



Members of the Community Energy team recently attended a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil a solar photovoltaic (PV) system at The Goodwin Memorial Branch of the Hartford Public Library in Hartford, Connecticut.   The 8-kW solar system is the first installation of the 10 kW the City has earned through the Connecticut Clean Energy Communities program and is valued at approximately $80,000.
