Where Are the Green Police?



Although the shift in sustainable social consciousness continues, apparently not everyone has gotten the memo. How do we educate those who either don’t understand the consequence of their actions or just don’t want to be bothered?  Is social pressure enough or do we need laws to force people to adopt best practices?

What a Waste



Human waste and taxpayer waste have gone hand in hand recently, with news of former Merrill Lynch boss John Thain’s furnishing of his bathroom, to the tune of $1.2 million and the recently departed Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne spending $235,000 to renovate a bathroom which included monogrammed towels.

I am increasingly reading about home re-modeling that takes into account innovative water usage techniques, like capturing rainwater...

The Silver Lining of a Startling Statistic



I just came across this startling statistic in Wired Magazine: By 2030 China could be producing as much carbon emissions as the entire world is creating today.

While that is a pretty scary prospect, it isn’t without a silver lining for us here in the US.
