You may have heard the story about our very own Joe Green and his wife Angel. Without any project development experience, they invested their spare time and personal finances in the creation of a commercial-scale wind farm in Joe’s hometown in Pennsylvania. Their successful effort, the 13 turbine Locust Ridge project, now owned by Iberdrola Renewables in Schuylkill County, is currently growing by 51 turbines in a project expansion, Locust Ridge II.

On top of building a hugely successful project 10 minutes from where he grew up, Joe recently worked with our in house Green Team and our Information Technology (IT) department to find a home for some used company computers. Continuing a trend, Joe found a local home for these machines, his high school alma mater. Shenandoah Valley High School, located near the wind farms that Joe has developed, received our 13 used computers on December 15.

Pictured in the accompanying photo, from left to right, is Superintendent Dr. Stanley G. Rakowsky, Joe, a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School, and computer science technologist Ms. Ann Marie Carter, in the high school computer lab.
