I have three of the most adorable nephews in the world. (Seriously – I’m totally unbiased.)  And as a passionate supporter of the environment, you can only imagine how thrilled I was when my sister sent pictures of all three boys sporting shirts with this message:  “Stop Global Warming – Ride a Bike.”  Hmmm…Not a bad idea, and it seems a lot of other people agree.  According to treehugger.com, as of October this year bicycle sales are up – way up.

In certain areas, like New York and Taiwan, there have even been recent bicycle shortages.  So I think the idea is if you’ve got ‘em, ride ‘em.  I know, I know… the weather is cold right now.  But hey, at least you’ll have a new reason to look forward to spring!  Check out the Adventure Cycling Association for some local bike clubs and maps and start planning your next trip by bike.
