Topic: Assorted Green, Individuals

It was my birthday this past week and my husband offered to do whatever I wanted.  (I am very lucky as my husband is thoughtful and gets down with reusable grocery bags.)  I thought a day outside sounded fun, so we packed up my kids and in-laws and went to Green Lane Park, which is a county park in Eastern Pennsylvania.  We ate a picnic lunch, took a walk and climbed on rocks.  My son tried to fish with his grandfather using some worms that we dug up.  They didn’t catch anything, but had a nice time trying.

We didn’t spend much money, as our only expenses were food and gas.  The planning and traveling involved were minimal and we had a great day.  I liked that we could celebrate in a low key yet meaningful way.  We had no choice but to relax and enjoy each other and the beautiful day.  It may have been one of those days that my kids always remember and look back on fondly.  If you have a birthday approaching or just a day coming up were you can do whatever you want, think about hanging out at the park with your family or friends.  I found it to be a great way to celebrate.
