A Good Reason to Lose a Customer

Normally, we are never happy to lose a member of our renewable energy customer community.  This week, a long time customer in Virginia contacted me to cancel his service.  When I found out why, I was happy about it.  He was cancelling because he is now producing all of his own electricity at home using solar panels and a small wind turbine.

While the core of our service is to provide wind energy from large utility scale wind farms, we also support small solar and hydro projects.  Specifically in New Jersey and Illinois, our customers’ purchases go to support residential solar installations.  Community Energy’s mission is to increase the supply of renewable energy, and seeing one of our customers single-handedly making that happen is very exciting!
