Position Description

Community Energy seeks a motivated person to design promotional materials, including physical print, web graphics, and promotional video shorts.  The Graphic Designer and Web Developer position will begin as early as May 28th, 2012.  Basic website development experience is a plus.  The position will be full-time and located in our headquarters in Radnor, PA. This position is ideal for recent graduates who live in the greater Philadelphia area and are looking to gain tangible marketing experience with a leading renewable energy company.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has experience working with one of the following software’s:

Keystone Solar - Internship Opportunity

Community Energy is seeking a student intern to assist with the creation of video and academic materials for its Keystone Solar Project.  The Keystone Solar Project is a 6 megawatt solar array in Lancaster County, slated for construction in the spring of 2012.  The student will be responsible for assisting the Keystone team in developing a college-level curriculum based on the project. 

This student has an interest in renewable energy and experience shooting and editing videos for the web. The intern will also provide valuable insight into how sustainability is taught in the classroom.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be directly involved with the development of Pennsylvania’s largest solar project!

Position Description

The Delaware Sales Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and closing Community Solar Shares sales to residential and business customers. Reporting to the Community Energy Inc. Business Development Manager and Mass Market Sales Director, the Delaware Sales Coordinator will be responsible for working closely with the marketing team to generate new leads and close Solar Shares sales to residential and business customers in DE.

Manager, Electrical Interconnection

Community Energy, Inc. (“CEI”) is a leading renewable energy marketing and development company headquartered in Radnor, PA.

CEI is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Manager, Electrical Interconnection to support the development of utility-scale, commercial solar PV and wind electricity generation facilities throughout the US.  The selected candidate will oversee the process for interconnecting CEI’s projects to the distribution or transmission grid and serve as the primary point of contact between CEI, the grid operator, and the local distribution/transmission utility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with project developers and engineers to identify optimal locations to interconnect solar PV projects to the utility distribution/transmission system and help drive project development toward the most economic opportunities from an interconnect perspective.
  • Acquire and manage transmission and interconnection rights, and queue applications, for multiple simultaneous projects through the entire interconnect process. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between CEI, transmission operators and utilities.
  • Manage/Track CEI’s interconnect rights portfolio, including existing and pending applications, deliverables, deadlines and contracts to help drive project development.
  • Maintain knowledge of constraints and competing generation in proposed project areas.
  • Forecast and track costs of studies, engineering, consulting, and payments to satisfy interconnection requirements.
  • Develop basic familiarity with specific electrical codes governing interconnection of PV solar plants to the distribution/transmission grid.

Education & Experience:

  • 4 year degree, with project development or engineering experience preferred.
  •  Minimum 5 years experience in energy project development and/or utility scale electric interconnection involved in the development, study, siting, or interconnection of generating facilities – solar PV or other renewable energy experience preferred. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Knowledge of energy project development, utility system planning, interconnection management, and transmission planning-marketing.    
  • Basic understanding of energy project development and facility interconnect economics.
  • Basic understanding of electrical one line and schematic diagrams.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
