Metro NYC Outreach Coordinator

Community Energy, a leading national wind energy marketer, is seeking an energetic, self-starter with a passion for promoting clean energy in and around New York City.  Help promote clean, home-grown wind power and make a difference by signing up new residential and small business customers!  This is a grass roots effort and lots of fun.

Responsibilities include: 

    • Enroll new customers in the Con Ed Solutions WIND Power   program in New York City and Westchester, Orange and Rockland counties.  www.communityenergyinc.com/nyc
    • Enroll new customers in clean energy programs offered in New Jersey, Long Island, and Connecticut.  
    • Responsible for meeting direct sales and marketing goals
    • Manage day-to-day activity, operations and scheduling for NYC metro team
    • Manage part-time staff of 3-5
    • Help organize direct outreach and education efforts in NYC metro area
    • Weekend work is required

Sales and marketing channels may include:
    • Event marketing
    • Tabling at retail locations
    • Presenting to community/environmental groups
    • Grass-roots networking through local organizations/neighborhoods
    • Community-based web marketing

Qualifications:
    • Sales, Marketing or Grass Roots Campaign experience is helpful
    • Interest in or knowledge of renewable energy industry
    • Desire to make a difference
    • Familiarity with NYC metro area – NYC, Westchester, Orange, Rockland, NJ, LI, CT
    • Access to a reliable vehicle is highly desirable

Internship Opportunities with Community Energy

Community Energy, Inc. is looking for interns to join its fun, professional and dynamic team!   This is a great opportunity for a college student or recent graduate to gain real life experience with a small business in clean energy technologies, policy and green marketing while being exposed to a wide variety of job roles and responsibilities.  The ideal candidate would be available for a minimum of 10 hours per week, must be flexible, professional and able to manage multiple tasks.  Responsibilities may include research, administrative assistance, customer service and heading up special projects.

Qualifications:
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-directed and able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
• This is an unpaid position

Development Assistant and Landowner Researcher

This challenging position will provide administrative and research support to the CEI Wind Development Team while allowing the person hired the opportunity to participate and advance in the fast growing renewable energy sector.   The selected candidate will provide direct support to the Senior Developer, President of Wind development, land acquisition contractors and other personnel as needed.   Duties will include support of the development team in the resolution of day-to-day project issues, directly perform and assist landowner outreach, assist in subcontractor management, maintain project databases, organization and maintenance of files, drawings, logs and reports.  

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Support development staff as requested.
•    Compose and prepare correspondence, land agreements, reports and other documents.  Respond to routine external correspondence.
•    Assist in landowner outreach by maintain project landowner databases.
•    Perform and manage initial landowner contact through introductory letters and calls.
•    Use a mapping program to research and then manage spatial project information.
•    Coordinate leases and other legal paperwork (leases) with corporate legal department.
•    Assist in subcontractor research, bids, orders and track contract progress.

QUALIFICATIONS
•    Excellent skills in Microsoft Office 2007 particularly Excel and Word.
•    GIS mapping, CAD and or mapping/project drawing reading experience.
•    Excellent organizational skills.
•    Ability to prioritize and manage multiple changing tasks.
•    Strong interpersonal skills.
•    Excellent communication skills, personable, team player.   
•    Highly motivated and self-starter.
